Weather for the weekend .....

Only 4 days to go until the first race of the SIMRAD.

The wind is looking  light as a high is supposed to be covering the North Island on Saturday. However, a low is expected to develop in the Tasman on Friday and this may change what happens. It is just another wait and see type of situation.

The good weather we have had over the last couple of days has been great for Rob as he now has his final two coats of paint on the back half of the boat, this means that on Friday, Neil (our resident electrical and electronic engineer (EEE)) and I can install the electronics needed for the race. Power to the engine and instruments is the biggest priority.

Our PHRF handicap has been allocated this year at 0.785, which reflects pretty well how we sailed last year, however as it is less than cut off for sailing in the long haul course. So this weekend, the trip to and from the race will be equal to the course length. Course information will be posted this week...
