fight again another day

We are approaching Golden Bay Marina, for 36 hours off. Yesterday we survived 20 hours of very rough seas with 40 knot winds.

At 17:33 we heard the forecast for the coming three day suggested more of the same, then easterlies on Sunday.

We made a somewhat hard decision to take shelter in Golden Bay, then hope to sail south in the easterly winds.

Thanks for all your support, further updates this evening.

  1. Good call guys. You cant do much else but take heed of the weather forecast which they are saying is going to be a weather 'bomb'. Sounds like you have had a rough couple of days already as it is so enjoy some shelter and rest ready for the last bit south in hopefully some kinder conditions.

Glad to here that Coppelia and you are surviving what the weather is throwing at you, all your prep is paying off. Enjoy the chance to sleep and eat, and hopefully some better wind. Alison.

  3. Sound decision by you two! The weather should improve and you will have a good trip down to Stewart Island. Rest well and fuel up your bodies for the rest of the trip. Stay positive and all will be OK. Take care. Marie and Charles
