A quick message about the SIMRAD 100 starting tomorrow.

Fleet

Outrageous Fortune 7

Weather

Situation: A slow-moving ridge lies over the North Island. A complex trough of low pressure should approach the South Island from the Tasman Sea on Saturday. The timing of  the arrival of the low and the associated front will be important. Making sure we are well rested for the end of the race is essential.

Start
We are in the first start 09:05 at Northern Leading Rangitoto Channel - you should be able to watch from North Head.

Course
Starting in the Ranigtoto Channel, passing Rangitoto Island (starboard), rounding Motutapu Island (starboard), Gannet Rock (port), Channel
Island (port), Little Barrier (port) to finish Orakei Wharf. (approx.106nm)

Mode

This is race is going to be long, and finally  we will be racing at time when changes in the weather will be important and big gains can be made by knowing what is happening. Not sure about Rob’s mood, but I am pretty excited about getting out there tomorrow. Game on. Mode – “whatever it takes”.
