Race coverage

Tomorrow is the HSBC Coastal Classic. This is a pretty big event on the sailing calendar, and as such has a lot of publicity. There are lots of ways to keep track of us during the race:

  • Check our News from onboard, sent by txt message to this site;
  • Until about 3pm we should also be visible on our AIS Location Map - http://www.expeditioncoppelia.com/p/ais-location-map.html;
  • We will be contributing to both the crew.org and Coastal Classic sites;
  • The Coastal Classic site will also have our results, and the time that we report in at Flat Rock near Kawau and Cape Brett 28 nm before the finish.

The weather looks good! A low to the south of the Chatham Islands and a high pressure off the NWS coast, will bring southerly winds.  The models are saying 16 knots at the start, dying through the day. So it should be a nice sail, maybe a little cold. The GREAT news is my new Helly Hansen jacket has just arrived by courier, so I will be toasty.
