March 7th

Hello faithful webreaders,

Today we are to the west of Jackson Bay, in 5 knots of northerly.
Boatspeed ...variable. We had a nice run under larger fraction kite
through the night and the early hours of this morning, then went through
a calm patch, and are now under code zero.

The cloud to the east of us is clearing and Rob has just spied the first
sight of the Southern Alps.

All is OK onborad, both a little frustrated at h the lack of wind, and
glum aobut our progress. Congratulations to those boats that have made
it in. Hopefully we will be there in a couple of days.

  1. Hoping Huey gives you a bit more puff, to get you to Stewart Island faster, and put smiles back on your faces:)

  2. Stay positive - you are doing great given the circumstances. You should be in Stewart Island soon enough with a nice E/SE building! Hopefully you can carry the code Zero all the way down.

Keep smiling - we continue to follow your progress with great interest several times a day.

    Take care
    Marie and Charles

Have a great sail during the evening/night
