Fully back on.. (Rob)

We rounded the end of farewell spit in a beautiful 7-8 kt NW with our code 0 (biggest headsail) and slipped into our watches. I have sailed the length of the spit in about 7 metres of depth, just off the beach, with tourist busses going past hopefully getting some nice pictures. We are both very happy to be back out. Forecast looking very pleasant, our optimized course at moment taking us a liitle offshore, out to about 60 miles at about 240 mag. From here its roughly 450nm to the bottom of the South island plus 110 odd to the finish in Stewart Island. As I write this I can see the numbers on our expedition course schedule constantly updating and indicating a total trip time of 3 to 4 days, sounds nice.
Thanks again to all the people who have supported and encouraged us. We appreciated it more than you know.
We are fully back on..

  1. Rob, great to see a comment from you. Hope you can keep that code 0 up for the length of the South Island! We count on seeing you in Napier on March 13/14 when we will make a stop-over on the way to the SLSC Nationals in Gisborne! Take care and big thanks to Sally for keeping the blog up while you are busy repairing the boom....

  2. Let Neptune strike down all who sail before you, at least on a handicap adjusted basis.
