Making our way ashore after the finish, with our helpers from Royal Port Nic.
Yesterday afternoon, we finally finished, and while we took 5 days nearly double our hoped time, we arrived as the 8th boat.
Our biggest achievement however, is that Coppelia is in one piece and our damage list an oven door and a windex. Our steadfast agreement to get here in one piece and to put the welfare of the boat first in the end did show in our result.
Six boats from our division will not be joining us in Wellington:
- Mr Roosevelt - dismasted
- Truxton - injured skipper when wahsed overboard
- Gale Force - unable to continue
- Zen - injured crew member
- Danaide
- Fine Line - dismasted
We are both turely exhausted, and are going to spend today hanging out. A longer report will follow.
