SIMRAD 60 Saturday

The Simrad 60 is on Saturday. For some reason this race in the past has always taken a very long time, with finishes as late as 4am on Sunday morning ! Rob and I call this “value for money sailing”.

The weather forecast is for 35 knots northerly – robust conditions, a great birthday present for Rob, as these conditions should suit us. Rob once again has the boat in A1 condition, so we are both ready to go out and have fun.

Start

We are in the first start 09:05 at Northern Leading Rangitoto Channel - you should be able to watch from North Head.

Course

Starting in the Rangitoto Channel we are sailing to Gannet rock at the north eastern end of Waiheke, then, to Flat Rock, south of Kawau, round Motoroa Island, to finish at Orakei

AIS
Our AIS page is once again working, so where there is coverage you should be able to see us. Expedition predicts we should be finishing 6pm, however we could be longer. After 6pm you can watch our staggering slow progress under motor back to Gulf Harbour.
