A quick message about the SIMRAD 50 starting tommorrow July 16th… Sorry it is short I have a super busy day today.
Fleet
164 boats have signed up for the series, including a lot more girls than last year. Of note is Trish Lewis sailing Wishbone. I provided support to her Solo Trans Tasman Campaign. Trish and her co-skipper Evelien will be the only girls crew on the water.

Coppelia is in the longhaul division 2.
Weather
The disturbed southwest flow over the country should ease from Sunday, as a high over the Tasman Sea begins extending a ridge over New Zealand.
GFS is showing 10knots from the SW. All good for a spinnaker start.
Start
We are in the first start 09:05 at Northern Leading Rangitoto Channel - you should be able to watch from North Head.

Course
Starting in the Ranigtoto Channel we are sailing round Waiheke anticlockwise, so along the southern shore first.
Location
We will once again be using our AIS. It should work pretty well for this race, as we are close in.
