Rob is super busy at the moment, so here is my interim report.
As I said last week we have been struggling with our boat work in the past couple of weeks due to the horrendous weather Auckland has been experiencing. One thing that did not get finished on time was the very cool new pod for the new instruments. So Saturday was a time for some “seat of the pants sailing”, where you have to just “feel” what is happening with the boat rather than watch the speedo.
Rob will fill you in on all the details, but here are my highlights:
- Rob once again got us a great start in the front row.
- Me driving the boat with the “big” kite up along the Waiheke shore on a reach.
- A series of nice tight gybes through the Waiheke Channel
- A great inline change to the number 2 headsail just before Thumb Point.
- My brand new Musto ladies wet weather pants… Not available in NZ- apparently women here don’t sail other than on a Tuesday night! . Not only were they toasty and warm they fitted me as well.
